PLC & HMI retrofit

01PLC and machine logic

Modernisation of control logic, operating sequences and enabling conditions.

02HMI and operator interfaces

Clearer screens, readable diagnostics and controls aligned with real machine operation.

03Control panels and machine-side components

Integration of control hardware, signals, wiring and panel-mounted devices.

04Signals, drives and motors

Verification and management of machine signals, drives, sensors and primary actuators.

05Commissioning and restart

On-site functional testing to validate modifications, sequences, alarms and machine behaviour.

PLC AND HMI RETROFIT

Modernise the control system without replacing the machine

An effective retrofit starts from how the machine really works. Before replacement, we reconstruct signals, sequences, interlocks and operating priorities so the new control retains what matters while improving diagnostics, reliability and maintainability.

01

Existing automation assessment

We review the PLC program, I/O map, safety signals, drives, recipes, alarms, communication networks and available technical documentation.

02

PLC migration and HMI replacement

We address obsolete controllers and operator panels, recovering or rewriting the required logic and making commands, machine states and diagnostics easier to understand.

03

Testing and technical handover

Signals, interlocks, operating modes and cycles are checked on site. Backups, source files and updated documents are organised according to the agreed scope.

When retrofit is the right choice

  • Discontinued PLC, HMI or control components
  • Spare parts that are unavailable or too slow for production needs
  • Unclear alarms and excessively slow troubleshooting
  • Incomplete programs, backups or technical documentation
  • Need to integrate drives, sensors, actuators or new formats
  • Mechanically sound machine with an unreliable control system

PLC and HMI retrofit questions

Does a retrofit require replacing the entire machine?

No. The project identifies which mechanical and electrical parts can remain and which control components need to be upgraded.

Can the PLC and HMI be replaced separately?

Yes, when protocols, signals and software allow it. Compatibility, source availability and operational risk are checked before work starts.

What is tested before production restarts?

Signals, interlocks, affected safety functions, drives, alarms, operating modes and sequences are tested in relation to the work completed.
